"So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory."
-1 Peter 5:1-4
Frequently Asked Questions
What does Redeemer OPC believe?
You can read more about our beliefs here: Our Beliefs.
What is a Sunday worship service like?
The morning worship service begins at 9:30 am in the sanctuary. The elders lead the church service, by calling the church to corporate worship. We sing songs that tell of the mighty works of God, followed by prayer, and the giving of tithes and offerings for the support of the various ministries in the church. Then the pastor will preach a sermon, expounding on a particular passage of Scripture. We will close in prayer, and sing a closing song. After the morning service, we invite you to stick around for a time of coffee and fellowship. Summer months excluded, we have Sunday School classes available for all ages beginning at 11am, and ending promptly at noon. The evening service follows a similar format as the morning service, and begins at 5pm.
What should I wear to worship?
There is no dress code at Redeemer. Many who attend dress informally and many will dress more formally. We invite you to come as you are and pray that, along with us, you will leave changed from the inside out.
Where should I park?
Redeemer has ample parking right on the church campus. Visitors spots have been reserved for you to the left of the main church entrance immediately off of E. Fulton St.
I need a ride to church. Can Redeemer provide that?
Absolutely! We can have somebody from the church pick you up. Please call the church office at (616) 682-0800 before 4:30pm on Friday, and we will make arrangements to have somebody pick you up.
Do I have to be a Christian to attend?
No. Anyone is welcome to attend to hear the good news of Jesus Christ proclaimed.
