Connected Ministries

Connected Ministries’ commitment is to help everyone access God’s Word by identifying and assisting those with special needs and challenges within our church body. These special needs and challenges may include physical, social, cognitive, developmental, behavioral, or emotional health issues; aging; and associated loss of independence, mobility, and other aging related illnesses. If you are interested in participating with this ministry or if you identify a need, please contact the church office at 616-682-0800 or tlangerak@redeemer-opc.org.

Welcome Center Team

The Welcome Center exists to help acclimate visitors to Redeemer Presbyterian Church. It is a place where more information concerning our facilities, ministries, and other general questions can be answered. If you are a visitor seeking more information about how to get connected and involved at Redeemer, this is the first place for you to stop when you come visit us. If you are a member who would like to be involved in this ministry, please contact Marty Huizinga at martyhuiz@gmail.com.

During Service

Musical Ministries

There are a variety of ways to be involved in the music ministry at Redeemer. Those who play musical instruments are invited to participate in accompanying the congregational singing. Those who can sing are invited to help lead the congregation in singing each Sunday as well as participate in our choir. For more information about how you can participate in the musical ministry, please contact Ginger Pasma at gpasma@redeemer-opc.org.

Audio/Visual Team

Redeemer is blessed with state-of-the-art technology that equips it to be able to live broadcast its services. If you are gifted in working with technology and would like to serve on the audio/visual team, please contact Randy Baker at bakerrandal@msn.com.

The usher crew at Redeemer currently assists in collecting the offering during the worship service. In the future, there may also be opportunities to assist in seating those who arrive for the worship service. If you are interested in helping in this ministry, please contact Jon Bras at jonathandbras@gmail.com.

Our nursery is designed for children ages 3 and under.  Nursery is available during both the morning and evening Sunday services.  Our nursery is staffed with female volunteers, if you are interested in serving in the nursery please contact Laurel DeLange at laureldelange@gmail.com.

Sunday Coffee

Men and women, high school age and older, are invited to volunteer to offer hospitality to Redeemer members and visitors by helping to set-up and serve coffee on Sunday mornings. Volunteers are scheduled to serve for a month at a time. Four people serve together, so new volunteers are placed with experienced ones. If you would like to participate in this ministry, contact Kim Fields at kfields@calvin.edu.

Hospitality Sundays

The theme of our ministry year (2018-19) is biblical hospitality. In addition to teaching about hospitality in sermons and Adult Sunday School, Hospitality Sundays give us the opportunity to practice hospitality. On the first Sunday of each month, there will be no Sunday School classes. Instead, the congregation is encouraged to invite friends and visitors into their homes or to enjoy time in other’s homes. The purpose of these Hospitality Sundays is to promote and encourage deep friendships among the congregation as we learn to care for each other, encourage each other, and carry each other’s burdens. It is also a tangible way that we seek to show the love of Jesus Christ to visitors who may worship with us. Shepherding elders have been invited to host Shepherding Fold lunches at the church on Hospitality Sundays. Details will be provided in Redeemer Life.
