WELCOME TO REDEEMER ORTHODOX PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

The grass withers

Redeemer Presbyterian Church is a local congregation of people from a variety of backgrounds, bound together by a common bond – we have been saved by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ.

The word Redeemer reflects our desire to honor the Lord Jesus Christ.  We believe that all people are born with a sinful nature that makes them rebel against God. But God so loved the world that he sent Jesus Christ to save his people from their sins through his substitutionary death on the cross and to give them abundant life.

The word Presbyterian comes from the biblical Greek word presbuteros, which means elder. The Bible teaches that God raises up elders to shepherd the flock under the authority of the Lord, the Good Shepherd.

The word Church reflects our relationship to the world. Jesus said, “I will build my church.” The word church in the Bible means “a people who are called out. ” At Redeemer Presbyterian Church we believe that we are a people that have been called out of darkness and into God’s marvelous light to declare his praises to a lost world.

Redeemer Presbyterian Church is an evangelical church that honors the Bible as the inspired and inerrant Word of God and our absolute authority. The Westminster Confession of Faith is held as the detailed doctrinal standard of the church, subordinate to the Bible. We join other Reformed churches in greatly appreciating the Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic Confession, and the Canons of Dordt.

The Orthodox Presbyterian Church is a growing denomination of some 240 local congregations and 60 new church projects throughout North America. Using the word orthodox, which means “straight” or “correct doctrine,” the OPC was formed in 1936 to carry the banner of biblical Christianity and historic Presbyterianism.

You may log on to www.opc.org to find out more about the history and doctrine of the OPC.

You are invited to join us for worship this Sunday at 9:30 AM and 6:00 PM. At Redeemer Presbyterian Church you'll find joyfully reverent worship and practical, Reformed Bible teaching. At Redeemer Church, you'll also discover that true peace and joy is only found by trusting in our living Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, alone for salvation. Jesus called people to himself saying,

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." -Matthew 11:28
